27th BCS (1st Result) Railway Officers
The officers of the 27th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) Railway Engineering Cadre and Railway Traffic & Commercial Cadre, selected through the first viva-voce examination, constitute a distinct group of civil servants whose appointments were finalized pursuant to judicial determination.
Following the publication of the initial viva-voce results, subsequent administrative decisions led to prolonged legal proceedings. Upon final adjudication, the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh, by its judgment dated 20 February 2025, reinstated the High Court verdict delivered on 11 November 2009 and directed the appointment of candidates who had qualified in the first viva-voce of the 27th BCS examination.
In compliance with the said judgment, the appointed officers joined the Ministry of Railways and were placed under Bangladesh Railway. They are presently undergoing basic professional training at the Railway Training Academy, Halishahar, Chattogram, in accordance with prevailing rules and training regulations.

In compliance with the said judgment, the officers joined the Ministry of Railways on 01 January 2026 and were subsequently posted to Bangladesh Railway. They are currently undergoing basic professional training at the Railway Training Academy, Halishahar, Chattogram, as Trainee Officers for a duration of 18 weeks, in accordance with prevailing rules and training regulations. These officers bring with them strong professional competence, administrative commitment, and a clear dedication to public service. They are expected to contribute meaningfully to the technical, operational, and commercial development of Bangladesh Railway.

Md. Mohiul Islam
Md. Mohiul Islam was born in Kushtia District. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Bangladesh Institute of Technology, Rajshahi (RUET), building a strong technical foundation early in his career. To complement his engineering background, he later earned an MBA in Management from the University of Dhaka, strengthening his skills in leadership, administration, and strategic decision-making.

Md. Zakir Hossain
Md. Zakir Hossain was born in Munshiganj District. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET), where he developed a strong grounding in structural analysis, design, and engineering problem-solving. He began his professional career in the private sector, working with Meghna Group as a Structural Engineer.

Md. Jasud Khan
Md. Jasud Khan was born in Rajbari District. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET), where he built a strong foundation in power systems and electrical engineering. He later earned an M.Sc. in Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET), further deepening his technical and analytical capabilities.

AHM Salim Reza
AHM Salim Reza was born in Natore District. He completed his undergraduate studies in International Relations from the University of Dhaka, gaining a strong understanding of governance, policy, and institutional affairs. He later earned an MBA from Khulna University, strengthening his expertise in management, finance, and organizational leadership. Before joining the civil service, he built a successful career in the banking sector with EXIM Bank PLC, where he served as Branch Manager and later as Senior Assistant Vice President.

Md. Abul Kalam Azad
Md. Abul Kalam Azad was born in Tangail District. He completed his higher education under the National University, which laid the academic foundation for his long-standing engagement in public service and development-oriented work. He was selected through the highly competitive 27th BCS (1st Result) for the Railway Traffic & Commercial Cadre and joined the Ministry of Railways. He is currently serving in Bangladesh Railway, contributing to the management of traffic operations, commercial activities, and service delivery within the national railway system.
